On a recent Friday night, after traipsing around North County doing interviews and portraits for the newspaper, we headed to Rainbow Community Church for a fund-raiser. We set up our booth and did our thing; those crazy Rainbow folks did the rest!
First off, possibly our best photobooth shot EVER:
The fund-raiser was coordinated by our amazing friend (and mother of the smiling baby above) Anndrea Boren. She’s below, in the middle. It was happy fund-raiser. Really.
Last weekend, the big day finally came for my Uncle Paul and his bride, Nadine. We had a blast shooting their wedding at The Grand Tradition in Fallbrook, where the weather was in the mid-80s — perfect for an afternoon of shooting. As usual, the photobooth was a blast, and we have to thank their guests for being such a fun group to shoot!
First up, my nephew, the ring-bearer.

Jeremiah and Shannon done got hitched two weeks ago, and what a wedding! They had tons of crazy guests at the reception, and we came home with some appropriately crazy poses. Our favorites:
Wow. Just, wow:
The booth was set up right next to the food, so we got quite a bit of traffic at dinnertime.
When Nate first approached us about doing wedding photos for him and Sarah, he posed the question somewhat like this: “Are you available for a wedding/knifefight in late August?” I had never heard a wedding compared to a knifefight before, but it was accurate, in a metaphorical way, to what went down last Sunday. The photobooth was in a corner of the reception room, and throughout the night we had folks coming back with good ideas. Lots of energy. A few injuries (not really, as far as I know…). The thing took on a life of its own, and it was a highlight we’ll remember for a long time.

Much was made of these handy little Nerf-like slingshots. Dangerous. (Right after this shot, dude No. 1 on the left actually shot dude No. 2.)
